Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Day Shifts
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week contract. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) on a block schedule, caring for patients across the antepartum, labor, and postpartum spectrum in a busy L&D unit.
Schedule & Requirements
- 3x12-hour day shifts per week
- 6 weekend shifts required over the contract period
- One pre-approved time-off request (all requests must be submitted upfront during the application process)
- 24 hours of orientation
Clinical Scope
You'll manage high-risk obstetrical cases, including:
- Antepartum and high-risk antepartum care
- Labor management and augmentation (Pitocin)
- Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Neonatal resuscitation and newborn care
- Fetal heart rate monitoring and recognition of abnormal patterns
- Magnesium sulfate and antihypertensive therapy
- Postpartum hemorrhage recognition and management
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
- Valid compact state nursing license at time of submission
- 2 professional references (within the last 3 years)
