NICU Registered Nurse | Austin, TX | Day Shift

A women's specialty hospital in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a travel contract in a high-acuity Level 3 neonatal unit.

Shift & Schedule

• 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM (12-hour days)
• Flexible scheduling required; no block scheduling
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract

Unit Overview

The NICU provides comprehensive care for critically ill and premature neonates across two floors. The unit is staffed with a Charge RN, Code Neonatal RN, Clerk, and Milk Tech. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment managing complex neonatal cases.

Float Requirements

Travelers may float as a functional float to other units within and outside of the women's hospital. When floating, you will not carry a patient assignment.

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Requirements

• Active RN license (must be verifiable via Nursys)
• NICU experience at the Level 3 acuity level
• Skills checklist and two professional references required at submission
• Onboarding includes specialty exam, core competencies, and background/drug screening
• Required immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza
• TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA) required
• Fit test required
