Registered Nurse – Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation | Night Shift | Hazleton, PA

This 13-week contract places you in an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit serving adult and geriatric patients. The unit operates with a collaborative interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, radiology, rapid response, and phlebotomy support.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday)
• Float to Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed
• No on-call required

Clinical Scope

You'll care for patients with diagnoses including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, neuromuscular disease, and post-surgical joint replacement. Key clinical skills include:

• Blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
• Port care and PICC/central line management
• Tracheostomy care
• Feeding tube and PEG tube management
• Anticoagulation and antiseizure therapy
• Wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and fall risk assessment
• Swallowing precautions and thickened liquid management

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of acute inpatient rehab experience
• BLS certification required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• First-time travelers welcome

Additional Details

• Contract start: December 7, 2026
• PA fingerprinting required within one week of signing
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance (3 attempts maximum)
