Respiratory Therapist – Travel Contract | Weirton, WV

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights | Guaranteed 36 Hours/Week

This acute care respiratory therapy position covers a broad clinical scope across multiple departments, making it an excellent fit for well-rounded RTs comfortable with diverse patient populations.

Clinical Scope & Coverage Areas

• Patient populations: adults, pediatrics, and neonates (ER and pediatric settings; no NICU)
• Departments covered: inpatient med/surg, PCU, ICU, ER, Rehab, PACU, SNF, endoscopy, cath lab, SDS, and outpatient ABGs and 6-minute walk tests
• Duties include breathing treatments, ABG draws, capillary sticks, and respiratory equipment management
• Assist with intubations; independent intubation not required
• Average 90–100 treatments per day

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
• 4-week rotating schedule; no self-scheduling or block scheduling
• Every other weekend required; holiday rotation participation expected
• No on-call requirement

Staffing Structure

• Charge RT coverage on all shifts; supervisor/director on-site Monday–Friday
• Traveler will never be the sole RT in-house

Requirements

• Active RRT credential (NBRC); CRT accepted if grandfathered by the WV Board of Respiratory Care
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• WV CARES certification required prior to start
• 3–4 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers considered
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Additional Details

• Scrubs: teal (acceptable patterned tops permitted)
• Orientation: 1–3 preceptor shifts as needed
