Unit & Clinical Scope
The PCU provides step-down level care for neuro and trauma patients. Nurses perform a range of procedures including:
- Neuro and spinal assessments
- C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
- Chest tube and lumbar drain care
- PCA pump and IV infusion management
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusions
- Tracheostomy care
Shift & Schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Float potential to stepdown and med-surg units
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
Required Experience
- Neurological and trauma care experience is mandatory — candidates without this background will not be considered
Preferred Skills
- Additional neuro and trauma experience is a differentiator for candidate selection
Additional Details
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Start date: October 7, 2026
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
