Progressive Care Unit RN
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit. This is a 13-week contract assignment, day shift, 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Float assignments to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
Unit Overview
The Progressive Care Unit manages patients requiring close monitoring and intervention. You'll care for patients with neuro and trauma-related conditions, post-operative complications, and acute illness requiring frequent assessments and skilled nursing support.
Clinical Scope
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Neuro and spinal assessments
- Chest tube and PCA pump management
- C-collar placement and TLSO brace application
- IV infusions and blood transfusions
- Feeding tube and lumbar drain placement
- Patient care using available technology (IV pumps, patient lifts, and specialty equipment)
Patient Ratios
- Standard: 4 patients per RN
- Stretched: 5 patients per RN
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Neuro and trauma care experience (required)
