Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Asheville, NC
13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
This PCU position supports a fast-paced progressive care environment with a focus on neurological and trauma patients. The unit manages intermediate-acuity cases requiring close monitoring and skilled nursing intervention.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Neuro and spinal assessments
- C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
- Chest tube and lumbar drain care
- PCA pump administration and IV infusions
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusions
- Tracheostomy care
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
Experience Requirements
- Neuro and/or trauma care experience is required; candidates without this background will not be considered
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend required
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Additional Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Float coverage to stepdown and med-surg units
- Scrubs: Navy blue
