Registered Nurse
Progressive Care RN – Observation/Step-Down Unit | Asheville, NC
This 13-week contract places you on a mixed-acuity inpatient overflow unit caring for medical-surgical and step-down patients, with a focus on short-stay cases (target length of stay under 24 hours). Expect a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover and a team-oriented culture that prioritizes compassionate, patient-centered care.
Shift & Schedule
- Every other weekend required; no call required
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Unit Overview
- Inpatient overflow unit managing mixed medical-surgical and progressive care patients
- All patients requiring telemetry are hardwired to bedside monitors
- Float to other units may be required as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Telemetry competency
- Progressive care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent progressive care or step-down experience
