Cardiac ICU | Night Shift | Asheville, NC | 13-Week Contract

This high-acuity Cardiac ICU opportunity is ideal for experienced critical care nurses comfortable managing complex cardiovascular patients. The unit operates with an RN-only model — no HUC or PCT support — requiring strong autonomy and clinical confidence.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours/week, alternating weekends
• Start date: October 11, 2026

Clinical Scope

Nurses manage critically ill cardiac patients at varying acuity levels. Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, EGD, and transesophageal echocardiography. Hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheter setup and interpretation, and transvenous pacing are core responsibilities.

Required Skills

• Titration of vesicant medications and vasopressors
• Sedation and paralytic management
• Ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience strongly preferred
• CCRN recommended; no certifications strictly required

Float Requirements

Travelers are expected to float to all areas of the facility as needed.

Dress Code

All navy or navy and white scrubs; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior ICU experience required
• Active RN license applicable in North Carolina
