Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This 13-week travel RN assignment places you in a high-acuity cardiac intensive care unit managing complex cardiovascular patients. The unit operates with RNs only — no HUC or PCT support — so strong independent clinical judgment is essential.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours/week | 12-hour shifts
• Alternating weekends
• Float to all areas required

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated start: October 11, 2026
• Guaranteed hours: 36/week

Required Skills & Experience

• Current ICU experience required
• Titration of vesicant medications
• Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Telemetry interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE
• Chest tube insertion assistance and maintenance

Procedures Performed on Unit

Cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis

Advanced Skills — Highly Valued

IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience strongly appreciated

Certifications

None required; CCRN recommended

Dress Code

Navy or navy and white scrubs only; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs
