Medical-Surgical RN — Nights | Asheville, NC

This 13-week contract (with potential for extension) places you on an adult Med-Surg unit managing a general medical-surgical patient population. The unit is staffed with a structured team including a charge nurse, floor RNs, CNAs, and a HUC on both shifts.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (or 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period)

Clinical Scope

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• IV fluid administration and IV antibiotic therapy
• Tube feeds and PEG feedings
• Ongoing patient assessment with escalation to Charge RN, Rapid Response, or Provider as acuity changes

Required Skills & Certifications

• Active RN license
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (preferred; candidates with this certification will be prioritized)
• Demonstrated telemetry rhythm capabilities
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills

Floating

• May float to other med-surg units; occasional assignments to the ED holding pod

Unit Expectations

• Attend shift huddle at start of shift (0650 or 1850)
• Clock in no earlier than 0638 or 1838; clock out and back in for meal breaks
• Team-oriented mindset — willingness to support CNAs and fellow nurses is essential
