Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This adult Med-Surg unit provides comprehensive general medical and surgical care with telemetry monitoring capabilities. The unit operates in a collaborative, team-focused environment where nurses are expected to support CNAs and peers alike.

Shift Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Estimated Start: November 2025

Clinical Scope

Common procedures and tasks on this unit include IV fluid administration, IV antibiotic therapy, tube feedings, and PEG feedings. Nurses must be able to assess med-surg level patients, identify changes in acuity, and escalate appropriately to Charge RN, Rapid Response, or providers as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Telemetry rhythm interpretation
• Strong critical thinking and time management
• Effective communication and punctuality
• BLS (required)
• ACLS (preferred)

Float Expectations

Occasional float to other med-surg units and the ED holding pod.

Scheduling & Unit Guidelines

• Weekend requirement: every other weekend (or 6 weekend shifts per pay period)
• Attend shift huddles at 0650 (days) or 1850 (nights)
• Must clock out and back in for meal breaks; clock-in no earlier than 0638 or 1838
