Renal Medicine RN — Medical/Surgical Unit | Asheville, NC

This travel RN opportunity is on an inpatient Renal Medicine unit providing specialized care for patients with complex kidney conditions. The primary clinical focus is peritoneal dialysis, alongside general renal patient management across a range of acuity levels.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating weekends and holidays
• Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Contract duration: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Inpatient renal/medical unit
• Day shift team: Charge RN, floor nurses, HUC, and CNA support
• Float requirement: May float to similar units or serve as a sitter if needed

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Peritoneal dialysis management and cycler operation
• Renal patient assessment and care across varying acuity levels
• Mobilization support using lift equipment and assistive devices
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary team

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (applicable to state of practice)
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Certified Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse
• Prior experience with peritoneal dialysis procedures

Dress Code

• RN: Navy blue scrubs
• CNA: Galaxy blue scrubs
