Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) — Travel RN
Asheville, NC | Days | 13-Week Contract
This CICU position places you in a high-acuity cardiac intensive care environment managing complex patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and intervention. The unit operates with RNs only — no HUCs or PCTs — so strong independent critical care skills are essential.
Shift & Schedule
- 36 hours/week, alternating weekends
- Travelers float to all areas
Required Skills
- Titration of vesicant medications; familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Mechanical ventilator and tracheostomy management
- Telemetry interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation
- Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, and TEE
- Chest tube insertion familiarity and maintenance
Desirable Skills
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)
- Impella support
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
Procedures Performed on Unit
Cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis
Certifications
- ICU experience required
- CCRN recommended; IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience appreciated
Dress Code
All navy or navy and white scrubs; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
- Start date: October 16, 2026
