Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC
Day Shift | 13-Week Contract
About the Unit
This high-volume ED serves a richly diverse, multicultural community and manages a broad range of acute presentations across medical, surgical, behavioral health, and stroke populations. The department is organized into multiple sections, and nurses are expected to float within all areas of the ED as needed — no floating outside the department.
Schedule & Expectations
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling is not available; scheduling flexes to meet department needs
Required Certifications (all required before start date unless noted)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
- Experience in a high-volume ED, comprehensive stroke center, or trauma environment strongly preferred
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to coach in real time
- Committed to patient experience standards including AIDET and consistent patient communication
Dress Code: Navy scrubs
