Registered Nurse – Med-Surg Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med-Surg Telemetry unit serving adolescent and adult patients. This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• Every other weekend required (approximately 4 weekend shifts per contract)
• No floating between units
• No on-call requirement
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience in Med-Surg, Med-Surg/Telemetry, or Telemetry
• Current BLS certification
• Valid Pennsylvania RN license
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills
• On-unit and remote telemetry monitoring experience
• Rapid Response/Code Team experience

Clinical Skills Required

• Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure care
• Blood product administration, central line blood draws, and peripheral line care
• PICC line management and IV initiation
• Heparin management and CVA experience
• Orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement care
• Chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Isolation precautions and wound/wound vac care
• Phlebotomy

• Charting system experience required
• Navy scrubs
• Orientation: approximately 2 hours
• 24/7 hospitalist coverage available
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
