PACU Travel RN – Greensburg, PA

13-Week Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts

This PACU position supports a busy post-anesthesia care unit managing a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across a range of surgical specialties.

Shift & Schedule

• Primary shift: 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM (3x12s per week)
• On-call requirement: 1 night per week (9:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday–Friday)
• Weekend call: Saturday & Sunday — each RN covers 3 twelve-hour weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; shifts may be spread across weekends or consolidated into a single weekend, freeing up the remaining 5 weekends
• Floats may be required to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius

Clinical Scope

• Phase I PACU and pre/post-operative care
• Surgical specialties: ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastics
• Conscious sedation, MAC, general, local, and nerve block anesthesia cases
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Malignant hyperthermia protocol
• Narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents
• Pain assessment, RASS monitoring

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience; experienced travelers only
• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license required at submission
• Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Available to work every other holiday

Start Details

• 10-hour orientation
• Pre-start modules must be completed before first day on unit
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
