Medical-Surgical RN | Nights | Des Moines, IA | 13-Week Contract

This travel opportunity places you in a Medical-Surgical unit managing general and abdominal patient populations. The unit runs at a moderate-to-high nurse-to-patient ratio and requires comfort with heparin drips and titration.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour night shifts; 48 hrs/week standard (36 hrs/week may be accommodated)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required; expect to work 1–2 major holidays per contract period
• No on-call duties

Float Requirement

Travelers will be expected to float across multiple campuses within the health system.

Scrubs: Navy blue solid tops and bottoms

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital setting
• Abdominal patient care experience
• Heparin drip/titration experience
• Level II trauma experience (Level I preferred)
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 24 months (no first-time travelers)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Proficiency with electronic medical records

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the past 24 months (preferred)
• Valid driver's license required
