Med/Surg RN — Travel Contract | Pagosa Springs, CO

Shift: Days, 0615–1845 | 3 x 12-hour shifts per week

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN to deliver observation and inpatient care on a busy Medical-Surgical unit. This is a rapid-response position requiring a confident, independent clinician who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, and ongoing reassessments
• Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, and blood products accurately and on time
• Monitor for changes in patient condition and communicate findings to the care team using SBAR handoff
• Demonstrate cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
• Provide patient and family education on disease process, medications, pain management, wound care, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and serve as a mentor to unit staff
• Maintain infection prevention practices, universal precautions, and patient safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg or Emergency Department RN experience
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current Colorado or Compact RN license
• Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Electronic health record documentation proficiency
