Respiratory Therapist – CVICU

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist for its cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU). You'll provide critical respiratory support to high-acuity cardiac patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery, managing mechanical ventilation, and performing advanced airway procedures.

Shift & Contract

• Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed hours: 36/week
• Start date: November 22, 2026

Requirements

• 3–5 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Current NBRC registration and Texas Medical Board RCP certification
• Recent critical care experience (within the last 2 weeks)
• All required immunizations and health screenings
• Valid driver's license or state ID

What You'll Do

Manage ventilators and oxygen delivery systems for post-operative cardiac patients and those in acute respiratory distress. Perform extubations, arterial blood gas sampling, and assist with airway management. Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Credentials & Onboarding

Standard facility credentialing applies, including background check, skills verification, immunization documentation (MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, Varicella), TB screening, drug screen, and EPLS certification.
