ICU Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Location: Simi Valley, CA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (36 or 48-hour weeks)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

You'll deliver coordinated nursing care in the facility's ICU, managing acute and critically ill patients according to established standards of care. You'll supervise and direct various levels of assigned nursing staff, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and apply independent clinical judgment to support patient outcomes and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care using the nursing process
• Supervise and delegate appropriately to nursing team members
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide patient and family education and support discharge planning
• Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions based on clinical findings
• Maintain a safe, healing care environment

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in California
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience
• BSN preferred
• Electronic health record proficiency required

Schedule Notes

Day shift with guaranteed hours. You must be willing to work most holidays; one holiday off per contract year may be approved.
