Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join the team on night shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week contract role working 3 x 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.
Clinical Scope
You will provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients, including those with acute respiratory disease. Your responsibilities include:
- Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapies
- Administer aerosol and oxygen therapies while maintaining accurate patient charts
- Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician orders
- Manage ventilator patients and provide post-installation equipment surveillance
- Perform drainage procedures and cardio-respiratory care
- Document all treatments for record-keeping and charge generation
- Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff and supervise as delegated
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Current RRT (NBRC-RRT) or CRT (NBRC-CRT) credential
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications (must be current or obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience
- Experience with labor and delivery and pediatric respiratory care preferred
