Cardiovascular ICU — Registered Nurse | Abington, PA

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

This high-acuity CVICU role is ideal for an experienced cardiac critical care nurse comfortable managing complex post-operative and hemodynamically unstable patients. The unit provides immediate post-operative open-heart surgery care and advanced cardiac critical care, with a focus on the following patient populations and diagnoses:

• Post-operative CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm/dissection
• Cardiogenic shock, acute MI, acute heart failure, respiratory failure, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support (VA/VV ECMO, Impella, IABP)

Shift & Scheduling

• 4x12-hour day shifts; self-scheduling
• Every third weekend required (~4 weekend shifts per contract)
• No on-call required; no block scheduling available

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of strong CVICU experience required; prior travel experience required
• Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation/management, 12-lead ECG, Swan-Ganz/PA catheter monitoring, CVP monitoring, epicardial pacing wire management, CRRT/CVVHD, arterial/central line management, mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, procedural sedation, and blood product administration
• Impella and IABP experience required
• Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management required

Certifications & Licensure

• BLS and ACLS required
• Active Pennsylvania RN license required at time of submission
• PA fingerprinting (Childline) required within one week of signing

Float Potential

Floating to MICU or Stroke/Neuro units may be required based on census needs.

Orientation: Approximately 36 hours

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered). COVID-19 vaccine not required.
