Respiratory Therapist – Nights | Council Bluffs, IA

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 3x12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

This position supports a full-service respiratory therapy department covering a wide range of clinical areas including the ER, ICU, OR, PACU, inpatient floors, pediatrics, L&D, nursery, and sleep lab — both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Adults, pediatrics, and newborns
• Conditions include STEMI, CVA, COVID-19, cardiac arrest, EKOS procedures, and IABP management
• Volume of approximately 30–40 treatments per day
• Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, performing occasional EKGs, and assisting with intubation
• Intensivist/hospitalist coverage is available on-site 24/7

Schedule & Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
• Call is not typically required; 30-minute response time if needed
• Scheduling is needs-based with some flexibility for requests
• No floating to sister campuses
• 2-day department-specific orientation provided

Dress Code

• Wine/burgundy scrubs

Required Certifications

• RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience
