Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown RN — Night Shift | Bridgeport, WV
13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week
This cardiac/telemetry stepdown unit cares for a moderate-to-high acuity patient population, including post-cath, post-PCI, AMI, pacemaker, chest tube, and post-operative lung surgery patients transitioning out of intensive care, as well as those experiencing respiratory failure. Nurses on this unit do not pull sheaths or manage arterial lines.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every-other-weekend requirement (Saturday & Sunday)
- Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
- Start date: November 23, 2026
Required Certifications
- BLS and ACLS (both required)
Must-Have Skills
- Ability to titrate drips is essential — common agents include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrilin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin (up to 50 mcg)
- Telemetry strip reading and interpretation required
Unit Environment
- Charge nurse available around the clock; charge nurse on nights carries a patient assignment
- CNA support on nights; RT manages all CPAP and BiPAP
- Float potential to MedSurg/Telemetry units
