Emergency Department RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the emergency department for a 13-week contract working the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Current, permanent Ohio license or compact license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 12 months permanent emergency nursing experience
- Active BLS (AHA or American Red Cross), ACLS, and PALS certifications
- TNCC certification preferred
- One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from work in the past 12 months required for submission
Key Details
- Shift: Three 12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Call & Holidays: At least every other holiday required
- Orientation: You'll complete an ECG rhythm recognition assessment and safeMedicate during onboarding. A passing score on both is required (two attempts maximum).
Important Notes
- Background check and BCI/FBI fingerprints required within 48 hours of contract signing
- Annual Hands-On Competency required for nurses on continuous contracts
- Must pass a 10-panel drug screen (nicotine screening included)
- Contract may be extended up to 18 months; a 6-month break follows unless the facility approves otherwise
