Orthopedic/Med-Surg RN – Night Shift | Santa Rosa, CA | 13-Week Contract
This night shift opportunity is on an orthopedic and surgical unit serving adult patients. The unit manages a diverse caseload including total joint replacements, arthroplasty, spine surgery, multi-trauma, and med-surg overflow. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, and social services.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Float to like units may be required; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours
- Block scheduling considered at manager's discretion
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start: November 2026
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Guaranteed hours with one possible call-off per two-week pay period
- Holiday commitment required: must work 3 of 5 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- BLS certification required
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Two professional references covering the past 3 years required
Clinical Skills
Central line care, PICC management, port access, chest tubes, lumbar drains, CBI, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, PCA, remote telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, traction, peripheral nerve block catheters, substance withdrawal management, and orthopedic trauma care.
