Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular ICU

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular ICU, a high-acuity unit providing immediate post-operative open-heart surgery care and complex cardiac critical care. You'll care for patients with diagnoses including post-operative CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm/dissection, cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial infarction, acute heart failure, respiratory failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and those requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 12-hour day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend (~4 weekend shifts per contract)
• Float Required: May float to MICU or Step-Down/Neuro units based on facility needs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Orientation: ~36 hours

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years strong CVICU experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Proficiency with invasive hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, CVP monitoring)
• CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management experience
• Vasoactive drip titration and cardiac medication management
• Epicardial pacing wire, IABP, and Impella management
• ECMO circuit experience
• Chest tube management and post-cardiac catheterization/intervention care
• Continuous IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, and procedural sedation experience
• Valid Pennsylvania RN licensure; travel experience required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
