Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Philadelphia, PA.
Shift & Schedule
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- 14:45 – 23:15 (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
- Call required: approximately 6 weekday call shifts and 2 weekend call rotations per contract
- No regular weekend shift requirement; however, weekend call is mandatory
- Floating within scope based on facility needs is required
- 40 hours of orientation
Clinical Scope
You'll work in a busy operating room serving adult and geriatric patients across multiple surgical specialties:
- General Surgery: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, thyroidectomy, Whipple procedures
- Neurosurgery: spinal fusion, cervical and lumbar procedures, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy
- Orthopedic Surgery: total hip and knee replacements, fracture procedures, spine cases
- Vascular Surgery: carotid procedures, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
- Transplant Surgery
The facility also manages high-acuity trauma surgical cases.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Operating Room experience
- Level I trauma experience required
- Strong general OR, neuro, orthopedic, vascular, and transplant background
- Pennsylvania RN license
- BLS and TNCC certifications
- Travel experience preferred
