Neuro Stepdown Nurse – Night Shift
Position Details
- Unit: Neuro Stepdown
- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 20, 2026
About the Role
The facility's neuro stepdown unit provides care for patients transitioning from intensive care to a lower acuity setting. You'll manage post-acute neuro patients, perform assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs and telemetry, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
Requirements
- License: Active, permanent Ohio or compact state nursing license (in hand at time of submission)
- Experience: Minimum 12 months permanent experience in neuro stepdown or similar specialty
- Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification (in hand at submission)
- Availability: Willing to work at least every other holiday
- Reference: One manager, ANM, supervisor, or director reference from the past 12 months (no peer references)
Assessments During Orientation
You'll complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment. Acceptable scores on both are required to continue. You have a maximum of two attempts to pass.
Additional Information
- Background check required; open cases will disqualify submission
- Drug screening and other compliance requirements apply
- Contract may be extended up to 18 months; a 6-month break may follow
- Orientation includes required facility modules
