Certified Surgical Technologist – Operating Room
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You'll provide direct support to surgeons and surgical teams while maintaining strict sterility protocols and ensuring optimal patient safety during procedures.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Clinical Scope
You'll work across multiple surgical specialties, including:
- Orthopedic procedures
- Neurosurgery
- Robotic-assisted surgery (multiple specialties)
- ENT procedures
This role demands strong technical skills, the ability to anticipate surgeon needs, and composure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current NBSTSA certification
- Valid state surgical technologist license
- Extensive experience in orthopedic and neurosurgical cases
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical systems
- Proficiency with Standard Precautions and personal protective equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Maintain sterile field throughout procedures
- Assist surgical team with instrument passing and retraction
- Monitor and communicate patient condition as appropriate
- Follow all facility protocols and physician orders
- Demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment in a complex environment
