Medical-Surgical RN — Night Shift | Petersburg, WV

13-Week Contract | Start Date: October 24, 2026

This Med-Surg unit manages a diverse adult population with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, total joint replacements, hysterectomies, and general post-operative care. The unit includes telemetry monitoring; RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own strips. No drip titration is required. Respiratory support is limited to CPAP/BiPAP for patients who use these modalities at home.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff
• No call or float requirements

Staffing & Support

• Charge nurse available every shift; on nights, one of the bedside nurses carries the charge role alongside a patient assignment
• Nurse aide support varies by staffing
• House supervisor available

Orientation

• Day 1 unit introduction, followed by two 12-hour orientation shifts

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks (91 days)
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Cancellation allowance: up to 2 shifts per contract

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience
• BLS (AHA) required
• Travel experience preferred; unit will orient to facility-specific workflows
• BSN not required
• No specific scrub color
