Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Lone Tree, CO
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Contract: 13 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
This busy Emergency Department in Lone Tree, CO is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night shift assignment. The unit manages a high-acuity, high-volume patient mix — including approximately 20% ESI-2 patients and a 28% EMS arrival rate — with a 30% admit rate. The department is recognized for its innovative, opioid-alternative (ALTO) pain management approach, which has driven a 34% reduction in opioid usage.
Clinical Scope:
- Full range of emergency and trauma care, including chest pain and acute stroke (thrombectomy-capable)
- Procedural sedation using Propofol, Etomidate, and Ketamine
- Psychiatric and at-risk patient care with focused safety monitoring protocols
Unit Culture:
Night shift operates with a stable, experienced team and consistent charge nurse leadership. ED leadership is actively present — providing direct patient care, hands-on staff education, and patient rounding.
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of current ED hospital experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC (PALS accepted in lieu of ENPC)
- CPI Blue Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- CEN certification
- High-volume ED experience
