Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
Join a med/surg telemetry unit caring for adults and geriatric patients. This day shift role focuses on monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and comprehensive acute care in a collaborative hospital environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Weekends: Required
- Float: May float to mother-baby (mothers only), tele unit, and ED boarder areas as needed
- Orientation: 36 hours
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Current RN license (CA)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience
- Previous charge experience
Core Competencies
- IV initiation and maintenance
- Phlebotomy and blood product administration
- 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management
- Telemetry monitoring (including remote monitoring)
- Non-invasive airway management
- Rapid Response/Code team participation
- Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) management
Unit Support
Work alongside physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and a dedicated unit secretary. Rapid Response teams and interpretation services are available.
Compliance Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Valid CA driver's license
- 2 supervisor references preferred
