PACU Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment, managing high-acuity patients transitioning from anesthesia across multiple surgical specialties.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 5×8 hours (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
• 13-week contract
• On-call requirement: nights and weekends (optional)
• Willing to accept call if offered
• Will float to Pre-op and GI Endoscopy procedures as needed
• One week of pre-approved time off during contract

Requirements

• Current California RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience
• PACU experience required
• BSN preferred
• GI Endoscopy experience a plus

Clinical Scope

You'll manage Phase I and Phase II recovery, monitoring patients across surgical specialties including orthopedic, general, ENT, gynecologic, and ophthalmologic procedures. Core responsibilities include airway assessment, ventilator management, pain and sedation monitoring, hemodynamic assessment, IV vasopressor administration, chest tube and central line management, and safe discharge planning.

Orientation

20 hours of structured orientation.
