MedSurg/Tele Travel Nurse — Rochester, NY | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This high-volume MedSurg/Tele position supports two distinct patient populations within the same facility, with floating between units required.
Unit Focus
- One unit specializes in cardiac patients, including CHF, acute MI, post-device care (pacemakers), and arrhythmia management
- A second unit serves general surgery patients, including colorectal, ostomy, breast procedures, reconstructive, and plastic/cosmetic surgery cases
Shift & Schedule
- 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
- Minimum 1 year of MedSurg/Tele experience
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Electronic charting experience required
- Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS (valid NIHSS certificate must be included with submission)
- Floating between units is mandatory
Key Clinical Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Blood product administration
- Peripheral line care and management
- Non-invasive airway management and oxygen therapy
- Wound care/wound vac
- Isolation precautions/PPE
- Use of rapid response and code teams

- Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
