Complex Medical Unit (Acute Care) — Travel RN

Knoxville, TN | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This Complex Medical Unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of acute medical diagnoses, including CVA, renal failure, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, post-cardiac cath, substance withdrawal, and ortho trauma. The unit utilizes remote continuous telemetry monitoring and is supported by an interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12s
• Start dates: November 16 or November 30, 2026
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Block scheduling will be considered based on unit needs
• Holiday weeks (full weeks) cannot be approved; individual dates are negotiable

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Tennessee or a compact state (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity setting
• BLS and NIHSS required
• Prior experience with a comparable charting system required
• Must pass a basic dysrhythmia interpretation test and medication test during orientation
• First-time travelers welcome

Clinical Skills

• Central line and PICC line care, port access, surgical and chest drain management
• BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway management
• Cardiac drip management (non-titrating), heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Blood product administration, PCA management, wound care/wound vac
• Pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis, pacemaker management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
