Telemetry RN — Travel Contract | La Jolla, CA

Day Shift | 3x12-Hour (07:00–19:30) | 13-Week Contract

This travel Telemetry RN position is based in La Jolla, CA and serves a multi-campus health system caring for adult and geriatric patients across a range of medical-surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, telemetry, and trauma.

Clinical Scope

Clinicians will manage moderate-to-high acuity patients with diagnoses spanning cardiovascular, neurological, surgical, and renal conditions. Key skills include:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management (non-titrating)
• CVA care, intracranial bleed management, and thrombolytic agent administration
• Pre/post cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and angiogram care
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, traction, and total joint replacement
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care

Schedule & Float Requirements

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle; at least one holiday shift required
• Float required to like or lower-acuity units across multiple campuses (excluding the ED)

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of concurrent Telemetry experience
• Prior travel experience required
• Active CA RN license (Temp or Perm) required at time of submission
• Electronic health record proficiency required within the last 6 months of work history
• Community hospital experience required
• One supervisory-level reference required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
