Medical Laboratory Technologist

Position Overview

The facility seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the laboratory team on a 13-week contract. This is a night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Friday through Sunday.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests accurately and efficiently following established guidelines and physician orders
• Report results in a timely manner while maintaining compliance with all laboratory procedures
• Perform, record, and analyze quality control data to ensure accuracy and precision
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment through regular equipment checks, work area cleanliness, and temperature monitoring
• Troubleshoot advanced laboratory equipment and initiate corrective actions
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test analyses; escalate to supervisors when appropriate
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from acceptable guidelines
• Assist with yearly departmental inventory and recommend process improvements
• Stay current with clinical competency through ongoing professional development
• Evaluate new testing methodologies and contribute to technical procedure documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science field, or equivalent experience
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Knowledge of all laboratory areas
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Familiarity with computerized documentation systems preferred

Schedule & Contract Details

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Friday–Sunday
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 6, 2026
