Med Surg

Float RN – Medical/Surgical | Night Shift | North Adams, MA

This is a float position requiring demonstrated experience in both the Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit. Candidates must be comfortable floating between departments and adapting quickly to varying patient acuity levels.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour nights
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Every other weekend required; holiday availability required
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start date: November 16, 2026
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years Medical/Surgical experience
• Minimum 2 years CCU and/or ED experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly preferred
• Willingness to float between units is mandatory

Required Certifications (must be in hand at submission)

• BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Licensure

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at profile upload

Additional Requirements

• Personal vehicle required
• Scrubs: personal scrubs, any color
• All RTO requests (maximum 5 days) must be submitted at time of profile upload — no exceptions
• Supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
• Medical/Surgical skills checklist (current within 1 year) required
