PCU / Stepdown

Stroke & Brain Unit | PCU | Kansas City, MO

This 13-week travel assignment places you in a dedicated Stroke & Brain unit, caring for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and neurological intervention. The unit maintains a high standard of care with an engaged, experienced nursing team.

Shift & Schedule

• 4 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)
• 3 shifts per week, with 3–4 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Stroke and neurology patient population
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac drip management
• Bladder scanning and Doppler assessment
• Float potential to other areas within demonstrated competency

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• NIHSS certification (required)
• ACLS and BLS (required)
• Stroke experience (required)
• Telemetry and cardiac drip experience
• Familiarity with basic dysrhythmia interpretation

Preferred Skills

• Neurology and neurovascular nursing background
• Experience with progressive care or step-down patient populations
