Med-Surg Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Salem, VA

This is a 13-week travel contract on a busy Med-Surg unit, working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The anticipated start date is October 12, 2026.

Unit Overview

The unit specializes in post-operative care, managing patients across a range of surgical recovery needs. Clinical work centers on wound care, dressing changes, and drain management in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team structure.

Typical Procedures

• Post-operative patient care and monitoring
• Drain maintenance
• Wound care and dressing changes

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with post-operative patient populations (preferred)
• Competency in wound care and drain management (preferred)

Shift & Scheduling

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours/week guaranteed

Dress Code

Navy blue and/or white scrubs; no hoodies, pullovers, or T-shirts.

You're a team-oriented RN who thrives in a fast-paced setting, advocates strongly for patients, and brings a positive attitude to every shift. Prior travel experience on a post-surgical unit is a plus.
