Labor & Delivery – Registered Nurse | Glendale, CA
13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Days | Start: December 7, 2026
This L&D unit manages approximately 130 births per month and cares for a varied patient population, including high-risk antepartum cases, hypertension, and deliveries from 23 weeks gestation. Perinatology support is available on-site.
Schedule & Logistics
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); start times also available at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend (4 shifts per 4-week period)
- First to float; float is primarily to postpartum (NICU background required to float to feeder/grower)
- No on-call requirement
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Scrubs provided
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience; travel experience preferred
- C-section experience required: must be able to scrub, circulate, and recover
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
Clinical Scope
- Active obstetric unit with two dedicated ORs and capability
- Postpartum coverage also available within the unit
- Scrub techs support L&D procedures; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
- No telemetry or ventilator management on unit; cardiac patients transferred out
Orientation & Support
- 3-shift floor-specific orientation
- Charge nurse shared between L&D and postpartum
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks (91 days)
- Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
