Night Shift RN – Progressive Care Unit

Position Overview

Join the nursing team for a 13-week night assignment (18:30–07:00) in a progressive care unit. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced RNs, including first-time travelers, to work in a hybrid PCU/med-surg environment.

Schedule & Flexibility

• 4x12-hour night shifts per week
• Multiple schedule options: 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48
• Weekend coverage required (6 shifts per scheduling period)
• Self-scheduling model
• One pre-approved day off per contract period
• The facility may call off one shift biweekly without penalty during census decreases

Clinical Scope

• Central line and port management
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow oxygen management
• Blood product and medication administration
• Dialysis and peritoneal dialysis support
• Chest tube, wound vac, and wound care management
• Rapid response and code team participation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience; at least 1 year documented PCU experience within the past 2 years
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification
• Willingness to support nursing student education
• Permanent residence ≥100 miles from the facility
• Relias advanced EKG test (must pass within 72 hours of offer acceptance; 2 attempts allowed)

Orientation

• Begins Sundays with online CBLs
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation included
• 24 hours total orientation

Pre-Employment

• Drug screening (12–14 calendar days before start)
• Fit testing (facial hair must be trimmed/removed per CDC guidelines)
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions considered
