OR Tech – Cardiovascular & General Surgery

Location: Charleston, WV

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 9, 2026

The Opportunity

Join the operating room team at the facility, supporting cardiovascular and general surgical cases. You'll work a 3×12 schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), weekdays, with occasional on-call coverage.

Clinical Scope

The OR handles an average of 25 cases daily across 14 rooms, including:

  • Cardiovascular cases: Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, coronary artery bypass, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window
  • General surgery: Open and laparoscopic procedures, thoracic cases
  • Preferred specialty experience: Vascular, urology, orthopedic/joint replacement, robotic-assisted procedures

You'll scrub, circulate, and manage equipment and specimen documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years OR tech experience with cardiovascular and general surgery background
  • National Certification (NBSTSA) and BLS required
  • Active WV or Compact OR Tech License (pending accepted for submission)
  • Able to handle standard OR equipment: tables, stirrups, battery-operated devices, positioning aids

Schedule Details

  • Weekdays: 7 AM – 7 PM (no floating)
  • On-call: One weekend per month (Saturday call; Sunday until 11 PM only)
  • Occasional weeknight call (7 PM – 7 AM) rotated with staff
  • Guaranteed 32–40 hours/week
  • Orientation every other Thursday

Compliance Note

Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31). COVID-19 vaccine not required. Submission requires full documentation: CV, skills checklist, two manager/charge references (past 2 years), license verification, and proof of address within 100 miles.
