OR Tech/Surgical Tech — 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced OR Tech/Surgical Tech to join the operating room team on a 13-week contract. You'll work in a busy surgical environment managing cases across cardiovascular, general, thoracic, vascular, urologic, orthopedic, and gynecologic specialties.
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: 3x12-hour days, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, weekdays
- On-Call: Occasional weeknight call (7:00 PM–7:00 AM); 1 weekend per month on-call only (Saturday and until 11:00 PM Sunday)
- Guaranteed Hours: 32–40/week
- No floating required
- Orientation: Every other Monday
Clinical Scope
The operating room runs 14 suites with an average daily census of 25 cases. You'll scrub, circulate, and manage equipment documentation across:
Required Scrubbing Experience:
- Cardiovascular: AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, pericardial window
- General/Laparoscopic: standard and endoscopic procedures
- Thoracic surgery
Preferred Experience:
- Vascular, urologic, and orthopedic/joint cases
- Robotic-assisted surgery
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years OR tech experience
- NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Active WV or Compact OR Tech License (pending license accepted for application; must be active at start)
- Current CV surgery experience strongly preferred
- Clean background check required
Special Notes
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1–March 31); medical exemptions only
