Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Night Shift)

Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

This Med/Surg Telemetry position is set in an acute care hospital in Rochester, NY, serving adult and geriatric populations requiring cardiac monitoring and medical management. The unit provides robust interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, respiratory services, IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services.

Shift & Scheduling

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday, as needed
• First-time travelers welcome

Clinical Scope

• Continuous cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Emergency response utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management
• Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Certifications & Licensure

• Active New York single-state RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous charge experience preferred; minimum 1 year of clinical experience required
• Travel experience required

Unit Details

• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combination
• Floating within skillset required
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Additional Requirements

• Proficiency in electronic charting is required (this is a hard requirement)
• Requested time off must be submitted at time of application; no more than 10 days of pre-approved time off permitted
• Pre-start module training required; up to 10 total hours, partially billable
