MedSurg/Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract

This is a fast-paced MedSurg/Telemetry unit managing a complex patient population that includes medicine, orthopedic overflow, and long-term complex care patients. The unit operates at high volume and requires nurses who are confident managing an acuity-appropriate load with strong telemetry monitoring skills.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Contract: 13 weeks, with possible extension
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Required
• Locals within 75 miles not accepted
• First-time travelers considered with qualifying experience

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency in electronic charting required
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS (valid copy required at submission)

Clinical Skills Required

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Pacemaker care (temporary and permanent)
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care/management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Feeding tube and tracheostomy management
• High flow nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Wound care and wound VAC
• Chest tube management
• Rapid Response and Code team participation
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Ortho trauma and post-surgical drain care
