MedSurg/Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Rochester, NY

13-Week Travel Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

This high-volume MedSurg/Telemetry assignment offers nurses the opportunity to work across two distinct clinical units, providing care to a diverse and complex patient population.

Unit Overview

One unit focuses on cardiovascular patients, including those with CHF, acute MI, arrhythmias, and post-device care (pacemakers and implantable devices). The second unit serves general surgery patients, including colorectal, ostomy, plastic and cosmetic, and breast reconstruction cases. Both are fast-paced environments requiring strong clinical judgment and adaptability.

Schedule & Coverage

• 4x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units is required

Requirements

• Active New York RN license — must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg/Telemetry experience
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required (valid NIHSS must be included with submission)
• ACLS required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with wound care, blood product administration, and peripheral line management
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Clinical Skills

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• Wound care/wound vac
• Rapid Response/Code team utilization
• Isolation precautions/PPE
