PCU / Progressive Care Registered Nurse — Night Shift | Cartersville, GA

Contract: 14 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (19:00–07:30) | Start: November 2026

About the Unit

This progressive care unit manages adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses. The team provides intermediate-level care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, hemodynamic support, and close neurological observation. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams.

Clinical Scope & Skills

Candidates should be proficient in:

• Cardiac telemetry (on-unit and remote monitoring), dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips; IV insulin and heparin protocols
• Central line, PICC line, and port access/management
• BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and surgical drain care
• Pre/post cardiac cath, post-MI, and post-angiogram care
• CVA/TBI management, pre/post neurosurgery, and renal failure care
• Blood product administration, PCA management, and wound/wound vac care

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Licensure: Georgia or Compact RN license required at time of submission

Scheduling

• Every other weekend required
• No schedule requests or RTO can be accommodated after submission
• Holiday coverage expected per standard rotation
• Float within facility/scope of practice as needed; no on-call required
